Why Delta 8 THC is Better Than Delta 9 THC

Here is my review of federally legal Delta-8 THC (D8) edibles compared to traditional Delta-9 (D9) THC – which are federally illegal.

Keep in mind; this isn’t a scientific paper, rather, a culmination of hours and hours of research. FYI, the research includes studies as well as some hands-on testing! 🙂

Here are the reasons I prefer Delta 8 over Delta 9 gummies

1) Better Control of Dosage

D8 dosage isn’t as sensitive…think of it as cooking versus baking. With D8, you can take 10-25mg and yes, you’ll feel more or less high, but you won’t feel completely out of control. With D9, it’s completely different – and dosage is much more precise. If someone offers you a gummy that is 5mg more than you’re used to, it could be game over for the rest of the night.

2) The Effect

Do you know how D9 can make you feel foggy, a little paranoid, lazy, and generally last a little bit longer than you want it to? Well, D8 doesn’t do any of those things! Because D8 attaches to both CB1 and CB2 receptors within your body, the high is totally different. Don’t get me wrong – you still feel blissful, it just comes without the foggy haze, paranoia, and anxiety that is prevalent with D9.

3) The Price

Not sure how to say it any better, but shit! Delta 9 edibles in some states are just highway robbery. Delta 8 is considerably more affordable.

I can order it online and enjoy without having to wait in line at a dispensary. Sign me up!

How many Delta 8 gummies should I eat?

If you’re new to Delta 8 gummies, my recommendation would be to start with 15mg. It’s a solid dosage for those that don’t smoke weed but want to take a break from a couple glasses of wine at the end of the night. Did I mention, no hangover!? Total game changer. If you have some experience, a single 25mg gummies will be a nice treat! Just like D9, your body can build up a tolerance and some “experienced” users can consume 30-90mg at a time…but I definitely wouldn’t recommend this for beginners!

How long should I wait for Delta 8 gummies to kick in?

In most cases, you’ll start to feel the gummy kick in within about 30 minutes.

How long do the gummies last?

This changes from person to person and is also dependent on how much you take. In general, if you take 15-25mg of a Delta 8 gummy, you can expect to feel “high” for 2-3 hours. Just like with Delta 9, there is a 20-30 minute peak, but it’s pretty quick to subside.
